Many diseases can be prevented through regular physical examinations and vaccinations. A Health Care and Treatment schedule prepared by your veterinarian will greatly contribute to good health and a high quality of life for your pet.

Recommended vaccinations for dogs include rabies, canine distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, parvovirus and bordatella. Cats also require vaccinations for rabies, feline distemper, rhinotracheitis and calici viruses. We also strongly recommend feline leukemia and AIDS vaccination.

Most dogs are at risk for the mosquito-transmitted infection known as heartworm disease. Therefore all dogs, particularly those in the Southeast should receive monthly Heartworm prevention medication. Heartworm disease also affects cats. Though not as prevalent in cats as dogs, the incidence is growing. Heartworm prevention for cats is available as a convenient monthly topical medication.

One of our pets' greatest enemies is the flea. Most pets experience extreme discomfort and itching when affected by fleas. Your pet is also susceptible to serious, life threatening diseases caused by flea infestation. We will be happy to recommend the best treatment regimen to keep your pets flea free.
